Photo of collapse the night it happened A desperate rescue operation is underway after a three storey private student hostel, Elite Five Star Lodge, collapsed late Sunday night near Federal Polytechnic Oko in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The building, located beside Tonimas Filling Station in Amokpala, came crashing down at about 11 p.m., trapping an unknown number of occupants beneath the rubble as cries for help were heard from inside the collapsed structure. Emergency responders have so far rescued at least three students alive, with the victims taken to St. Michael Hospital, Oko, for treatment. Rescue teams continue searching the debris amid fears that more occupants may still be trapped.
